14A- Halfway Reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course? 
In keeping up with this course, I have developed several competencies, but most of the skills I have used in this course, I acquired from prior experiences. To succeed in this course, there are a few skills that are nearly required if you want to do well. A few of these traits are perseverance, confidence, and organization. Sometimes this course would be frustrating because it is difficult to think of new ideas, and some of your ideas may not seem feasible. The key to this problem is perseverance- if you continue to try and try again, most likely you will be satisfied with your outcome. Confidence can also help in that when you feel passionate about an idea, you can confidently explain and delve further into it, giving you more sense of purpose and meaning in your idea. Lastly, this course is very deadline-driven. If you are not organized and tend to procrastinate, you could be in some trouble when completing these assignments.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. 
There have been multiple times not only in this course, but in life where I felt like giving up. In prior experiences, I have learned to keep my head up and keep going. If you believe you can complete something, most likely you can! I played football nearly my whole life until now, and the grit and mentality of the sport has followed me to my life today, whether it involves school or just maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In football, the team is only as strong as its weakest link. It may sound cliché, but from those experiences I have learned to not only push through myself, but help others in completing their goals as well, and that’s what I think the peer evaluation part of this course does.
3) Three tips. 
1. Figure out what makes you motivated, this could be anything!
2. Envision your life in the next 5-10 years, what do you want to be doing? How do you want your lifestyle to be like? This should help you in fostering a tenacious mindset.

3. Write down your goals, when you do this, you constantly see it, so you shouldn’t be distracted!

  1. Hi, Drew! This is an amazing post! Like you, I also felt that most of the skill required for this course have been achieved prior to this semester, but it's great for honing those skills and improving!

    Your last piece of advice really stands out to me. My dad always told us to write down our goals and put them in a place where we can see them constantly so we are reminded of our purpose. It's a great idea because it reminds you of what you need to be doing but also because if you write it out, your goal is now tangible in a way!
